The plastics program at Ward 6 is going great — keep ’em coming!!!

As explained by Steve Kozachik at the Annual Meeting of the Blenman Elm Neighborhood Association last Thursday (Dec. 8, 2022), the program to collect non-recyclable plastics and press them into blocks has exceeded expectations, and will continue for the foreseeable future.

From the Kozachik newsletter:

We want your plastic bags that do not belong in the blue bin. We want your bubble wrap. We want your plastic forks and spoons, yogurt containers, and the wrapping that goes around the meat you buy. We want your Saran Wrap and plastic tubs from frozen food. You do not need to wash it out – but please bag up what you bring and toss it into the Plastics Only bin that is now the first thing you see when you drive in behind the ward office.

NO STYROFOAM
NO RECYCLABLE PLASTIC
NO METAL OF ANY KIND
NO GLASS
NO CARDBOARD
NO CANS
NO GARBAGE

NO SORTING NEEDED – just bring your non-recyclable plastics in clear plastic bags (not loose).

NOTE: It can be a bit confusing about what does or does not go to this service. I would suggest taking a photo of the item in question, and emailing it to Ward 6 — or walk in (to get your FREE nice big clear plastic bags) and show them the photo on your phone and ask about it.
